Developing Financial Literacy through "The Real World" Activity

By engaging in the budgeting exercise during "The Real World" activity, students are gaining practical skills in financial management that directly apply to their future careers and personal lives. This hands-on experience of creating budgets based on their given scenarios prepares them for managing their own finances effectively in the real world.  Navigating the "life happens" station where unexpected events occur, such as winning money or facing sudden expenses, reinforces the idea of using problem-solving skills in real-life situations. Students learn to think on their feet and make quick decisions to address financial setbacks or windfalls effectively.  Thank you to the MSU Extention office in sharing materials for the event.
