Hilltopper Fans, It is the expectation of the Chickasaw County School District, Houston High School, and the MHSAA that all fans and attendees of athletic events demonstrate the highest levels of appropriate conduct. Athletic events are intended to be friendly competitions between student athletes. Fans are encouraged to support teams and students. However, any heckling, taunting, physical contact, vulgar language, or other inappropriate behavior directed towards a fan, the participating teams, or school administration will not be tolerated at any athletic event. Any person participating in such activities will be removed immediately from the event, and he or she may be banned from future athletic events as well as face legal charges. Remember, our fans represent our students, our school, our district, and our community. Please display the pride and loyalty that has always been a trademark of our fan base as we continue to support our Hilltoppers. Encouraged: • Enthusiastic support of your team • Good sportsmanship • Family friendly atmosphere • Commitment to safety • Welcoming attitude to all fans and visitors Unacceptable: • Disruptive or unruly behavior • Foul or abusive behavior or obscene gestures • Rudeness to fellow fans or personnel • Spectators are not allowed on playing surfaces at any time • Use of alcohol or tobacco **The conduct of fans at MHSAA events can have a DIRECT CONSEQUENCE for athletic programs and teams. Do not hurt our student athletes.

HHS head soccer coach Joseph Axton and his players volunteered to work the football concession stand on September 8th during a little league game. Coach Axton, Vanessa Salazar, and Sara Vaughn make cheesy nachos for the customers. Coach Aton works on getting the jalapenos and taking the orders, while Vanessa and her mother put the chips and chess into the tray. Since the soccer program worked the concession stand for the day, the program will get part of the proceeds. #ExpectSuccess

Light ‘em up! Students in Ms. McCarver’s chemistry class study the frequency and energy of different flames. They soaked wooden splints in water, then dipped the sticks in different chemical salts. Then, they put the stick into the flame to see the different frequency waves emitted due to the colors they can change to. “It was fun. I liked the colors of the flames. I didn’t know different chemicals could do that.” says junior Nykashia Conley. #ExpectSuccess
